About Us

At Crew H2O, we believe the best Great Barrier Reef experiences happen away from the crowds.

Based in Mission Beach, we specialise in small group snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing and private charter adventures to Beaver Reef and Beaver Cay and the outer Great Barrier Reef. Our tours are designed to provide a more personal and flexible experience, allowing guests to spend more time exploring the reef and less time navigating busy tourist operations.

Every day on the reef is different. Weather, tides, visibility and marine life encounters constantly change, which is why we carefully select our sites based on the conditions on the day. This flexibility allows us to showcase the reef at its best while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.

Whether you're snorkelling for the first time, completing an introductory scuba dive, or simply looking to explore some of the most beautiful reef locations accessible from Mission Beach, our goal is simple: to create unforgettable memories and share our passion for the Great Barrier Reef.

Andy

Crew H2O was founded by Andy Wright, who has dedicated more than 20 years to working on and exploring the Great Barrier Reef.

As a qualified Master 5 Skipper and Dive Instructor, Andy brings a rare combination of maritime leadership, diving expertise and extensive local knowledge to every trip.

Through thousands of hours spent on the water and underwater across North Queensland, he has developed a deep understanding of the reef systems around Mission Beach, including Beaver Reef and Beaver Cay.

Andy’s approach is centred around creating genuine, high-quality reef experiences. Rather than following fixed routes, he tailors each trip to the conditions on the day, selecting reef sites that offer the best visibility, marine life activity and overall guest experience. This flexibility allows Crew H2O to consistently showcase the Great Barrier Reef at its best.

He is passionate about sharing the reef in a way that is personal, relaxed and engaging, whether guests are snorkelling for the first time, completing an introductory dive or returning divers looking to explore new locations.

In addition to operating on the reef, Andy is committed to mentoring and supporting emerging skippers and dive instructors, helping to develop the next generation of marine tourism professionals in North Queensland.

For Andy, Crew H2O is not just about tours, it’s about creating memorable, safe and authentic Great Barrier Reef experiences that guests will remember long after they leave Mission Beach.

Our Vessel
'Phase One'

'Phase One' is an 8.5-metre Alutech Scorpion, purpose-built in Western Australia and designed to handle a wide range of adventures on the water. Fully surveyed and compliant with all AMSA requirements for commercial passenger vessels, she is certified to carry up to 8 people, including crew.

Designed with versatility in mind, Phase One can quickly transform from a snorkelling and scuba diving vessel into a capable offshore fishing charter boat. Thoughtful modifications allow equipment and deck space to be configured to suit the day's activities, ensuring a comfortable and practical layout for every trip.

The walk-around centre console provides easy movement throughout the vessel, while generous onboard storage keeps snorkelling, diving and safety equipment securely stowed away. Guests can also enjoy chilled refreshments from the onboard 80-litre fridge throughout the day.

Safety is at the heart of everything we do. Phase One was constructed with multiple watertight compartments and flotation foam beneath the deck, providing exceptional buoyancy and peace of mind when operating offshore.

Powered by a modern Honda 250hp outboard, the vessel delivers a smooth, reliable and comfortable ride. Cruising at approximately 22 knots, we can reach the outer Great Barrier Reef in around an hour, maximising your time spent exploring rather than travelling.

For added comfort, the rear of the vessel can be fully enclosed when conditions require, helping keep guests as dry and comfortable as possible throughout the journey.

Whether you're snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing, visiting Dunk Island or enjoying a private charter, Phase One has been purpose-built to help you make the most of your day on the water.
